YouTuba is a highly acclaimed young and innovative tuba quartet. Since forming in 2006, YouTuba has been aiming to make tuba quartet performance more accessible yet maintaining the finesse of a professional chamber ensemble. Formed while studying at Trinity College of Music, YouTuba began developing original arrangements and compositions to reflect the characteristics of the ensemble.
In February 2008, YouTuba was awarded first prize in the Philip Jones Brass Ensemble Competition, the first low brass group to receive this prestigious award. International trumpet soloist Rex Richardson, who adjudicated the competition, praised YouTuba for their "ownership of the music and high level of communication".
With an enthusiastic approach, YouTuba has given concerts and workshops all around the UK with a wide and varied programme to cater for all tastes and never fail to put a smile on the faces of their audience.
